Description
Slippery, soothing shaving soap provides a great lather with a little bit of clay ‘slip’ for shaving with skin soothing witch hazel. Essential oils provide a light scent a bit of anti-itch properties (clove). The experience is much different than a shaving cream!
The teacups add a bit of pretty whimsy to shaving, and I find them at secondhand shops. To use this soap, you need to use with a shaving brush. The brush pictured is sold separately if you don’t already have one!
To use, wet a shaving brush (I like to soak it first for a little bit while I do other things) and swipe across the shave soap. Work into a lather, using circular movements in the teacup or in a separate dish. Gently wipe across area that needs to be shaved. Repeat as necessary until area is completely covered in soap. Shave as desired. Comfortable for legs, face, armpits, or whatever else you want to shave.
Let the soap dry out completely between uses to help it last longer. The water should evaporate easily, but you can also pour out any excess after shaving to help it dry.
Nourishing oils and butters form the basis of this bar creating a fairly hard, bubbly bar. A little bit of clay provides the ‘slip’ you need for shaving. Witch hazel has natural skin soothing properties. Tea tree, lemon, cedar, and a touch of clove provide cleansing and anti-itching properties.
Each cup includes about 4 ounces of soap. The amount varies a little bit from cup to cup due to variations in the size of the thrifted teacups.
Ingredients:
Olive oil, palm oil, coconut oil, shea butter, cocoa butter, castor oil, sweet almond oil, (lemon, cedar, and clove essential oil blend), ground witch hazel bark, cosmetic clay, lye, water
(There is no lye in the finished soap. The lye combines with the fatty acids of the oils to create soap. The science and magic of soap!)
