XVIII The Moon Tarot Soap

Description

The Moon is sometimes said to be deceptive and dangerous, but is it dangerous or is it just a mirror image? Remember that not everything is what it appears to be. That includes our own emotions. The Moon also reflects the sun and gentles it. It lets you look at the light that you wouldn’t be able to see directly in the sun. The Moon reminds us to sort out our emotions with honesty and intuition.

This dark bar is centered around herbs from my garden: lemon balm, lemon verbena, and mugwort. The herbs are steeped in water for the soap batter. Activated charcoal and french green clay create the earthy night sky around the growing crescent moon.

Nourishing oils and butters create a fairly hard, bubbly bar with an essential oil blend to evoke the night sky (Siberian Fir, Cedarwood, Vetiver, and Clary sage).

Each bar is about 4 ounces. The size varies a little bit from bar to bar due to the nature of small batch crafting. To help your soap last as long as possible, use a well draining soap dish to let it thoroughly dry out between uses.

Ingredients:

Olive oil, palm oil, coconut oil, shea butter, cocoa butter, castor oil, essential oil blend (Siberian Fir, Cedarwood, Vetiver, and Clary sage), activated charcoal, French green clay, lye, water infused with lemon balm, lemon verbena, mugwort.

(There is no lye in the finished soap. The lye combines with the fatty acids of the oils to create soap. The science and magic of soap!)
