Description

Slippery, soothing shaving soap provides a great lather with a little bit of clay ‘slip’ for shaving with skin soothing witch hazel. The essential oils help boost the cleansing. The experience is much different than a shaving cream!

Usually shaving soap is used in a little dish, not much bigger than the soap. You can also cut this soap to the shape of your mug or dish with something like a pastry cutter or a knife. I have tea cup shaving soap that comes in a cup for this purpose! These bars were created when I ran out of cups before I ran out of soap batter. You can also use this bar like a normal bar of soap and it feels lovely.

To use the soap, soak the shaving brush thoroughly in water. Then rub the brush against the soap about a dozen times to load the brush with lather. You can then lather directly on your face, legs or whatever else you’re shaving until it feels right! You can adjust how wet the brush is or how you lather up as you figure out what feels right for you!

Nourishing oils and butters form the basis of this bar creating a fairly hard, bubbly bar. A little bit of clay provides the ‘slip’ you need for shaving. Witch hazel has natural skin soothing properties. Lightly scented with a blend of tea tree, lemon, cedar, and a touch of clove essential oils that also provide cleansing and anti-itching properties.

Each bar is about 4.5 ounces. The size varies a little bit from bar to bar due to the nature of small batch crafting.

Note that the activated charcoal in this soap could stain light colored washcloths or towels if used directly with the wet soap bar. It does turn the bubbles a bit gray but has not left a ring in the tub with normal use.
